STEVEN WEBB - STATEMENTFor over twenty years I have documented the social and aesthetic climate of Latin
America, complemented with extensive travels in Europe, Africa, and Asia. My
working method in these areas could best be described as ‘street style’ in approach.
The American West offers a more meditative approach to visualization. What results
are un-peopled images, although the hand of man is often evident. By attempting to
frame (re-frame) the world in my own way, hopefully, I am able to reveal it in a
unique and truthful spirit. -- Steven Webb
Steven Webb studied at the prestigious Center for Creative Photography in
Tucson, Arizona where he received a BFA in graphic design with an emphasis in
photography. He has worked in the field of investigative / forensic photography
testifying in numerous court cases in regard to the validity of photographic
evidence. Commercial assignments have included editorial work for the Los
Angeles Times and Annual Reports for the San Diego Museum of Art. He has
spent time in Europe shooting fashion in Italy and Spain for magazines and
advertising campaigns.
PARALLELS The latest series 'Parallels' emphasizes abstraction, adhering to the notion
of correlation / symmetry, holding that abstract forms, lines, and colors may
represent corresponding inner states, emotions and ideas.
